Heaton Property and Mortgage advice

Heaton is a suburb on the east side of Newcastle, about 2 miles from the city centre, with decent transport links. Adjacent neighbourhoods include High Heaton, Jesmond, and Sandyford.
Heaton is bounded by Heaton Park to the west, the train lines to the east, the A1058 dual carriageway to the north and dissected by Chillingham Road where most of the shops reside.
The dominant property styles are terraced houses and tyneside flats along the terraced streets. Semi-detached, occasional detached and bungalows are present to the west of Chillingham Road towards Heaton Park and the east of Chillingham Road near the coast road. A housing development comprising recently-built apartments in Hartford Court exists to the south near Chillingham Road Metro Station.
Expect to pay between £100,000 and £160,000 for a flat, apartment or first-floor maisonette. Prices will depend primarily on the number of bedrooms.

For semi-detached, bungalows terraced houses, and detached properties prices currently range between £175,000 and £365,000.

Tyneside flats are ideal for first-time buyers and buy-to-let property investors. Home movers and families may consider looking at the houses in the quieter areas, away from the students and young professionals.

Longbenton and Benton bound High Heaton to the North, Heaton is to the South and Jesmond Dene to the West.

Most of the properties in this suburb comprise semi-detached properties, with between two and four bedrooms, and typically built between the 1920s and 1960s. Tyneside flats, terraced properties and detached properties are also present.

A council estate centred around the former High Pit coal mine existss between Newton Road and Benton Road, accessible via Craster Terrace. Properties are around 50% privately owned.


Semi-detached properties sell for between £120,000 and £280,000 and Tyneside flats sell for £125,000 to £150,000.
Several purpose-built apartment blocks exist in the area, such as The Wills building, a converted cigarette factory, adjacent to the A1058. Apartments prices range from £110,000 to £165,000.
